Votes and sent-in codes

When you press Works or Expired, or send in a code, we store your choice together with a one-way hash of your IP address. The hash lets us count each person once; it can't be turned back into your address. Votes are deleted after 90 days.

Your own votes are also remembered in your browser (local storage) so the buttons show what you chose. You can clear this at any time in your browser settings.

Visitor statistics

We count page views and visitors without cookies and without storing anything in your browser. To count each visitor once a day, your IP address and browser name are turned into a one-way hash with a random key that is replaced every day and never kept, so we can't recognise you on another day or work out your address. Along with it we store only the page you opened, the website that linked to us, your country and whether you use a phone, tablet or computer.

Server logs

Like every website, our server keeps standard access logs (address, time, page, browser) for security and to fix errors. They are deleted after 14 days.

Advertising

We show ads from Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can turn off personalised ads at adssettings.google.com. In the EU and UK we ask for your consent first.
